Theresa Kunz from Germany became the millionth visitor of the Dubrovnik City Walls today. Theresa, travelling with her grandmother Siegrid Bahr, was shocked to find out that she was the millionth person to buy a ticket for the walls this year.
She arrived in Dubrovnik on the cruise ship Aida and was staying for a few hours. “My grandmother and I are unfortunately only here for a few hours however I will probably come back next year and spend a few more days in this beautiful city,” commented Kunz.
The millionth guest was presented with gifts and tickets for the walls by the secretary of the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities, the organisation that cares for the historic walls.
It is expected that this year a grand total of 1.1 million people will visit the Dubrovnik City Walls.
