At the session of the Tourist Council of the Tourist Board of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the situation with the tourist season was discussed, concluding that the current results are significantly better than 2020, but still significantly worse than 2019, the year before the pandemic.
“The only solution for the success of this tourist season, and thus the recovery of the economy, is vaccination, but while our tourism workers are aware of the need for vaccination and they are well vaccinated, the total vaccination coverage in the county is only 45 percent, which is not enough,” stated the tourist board.
Thus, from this session of the Tourist Council, an invitation was sent to everyone to get vaccinated and protect their health, the health of their fellow citizens and tourists, and thus enable a positive tourist season.
“There is a great danger that the season will end prematurely this year as well, if we do not achieve sufficient vaccination and thus open the possibility of an increase in the number of infected people again,” stated the council.
It was also emphasized that the County Tourist Board, if the British market is opened, which is one of the most important for the whole region, will increase promotions with its partners there.
