Slowly but surely tourism is returning to all parts of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and figures just released from the borough of Župa dubrovačka are encouraging. In June 4,861 tourists arrived in the borough just south of Dubrovnik and achieved 20,573 overnight stays. The most numerous foreign tourists were from Germany, followed by Americans, Polish and Russians.
This June was clearly much better than the same month last year when the pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions greatly affected the tourism industry. In fact, in terms of numbers June was 300 percent better than last year, but when compared to 2019, which is a more relevant comparison, the number of tourists was only 23 percent.
9,134 overnight stays were realized in private accommodation, 7,127 in hotels, 2,348 in other facilities, 1,099 in camps, and 865 overnight stays in non-commercial accommodation.
