The first three buses of a total of eleven new modern buses arrived in Dubrovnik this week. The public bus company, Libertas, ordered the new buses which were co-financed by EU funds and the total cost of the new buses is 18 million Kuna.
The new low-floor buses will increase the quality of public transport services and reduce the negative impact on the environment by applying the high EURO 6 engine standards for new vehicles.
Mayor Franković commented on the rejuvenation and modernization of Libertas' vehicle fleet, adding that the quality of public transport continues to be raised with the further use of European funds. “Three of the 11 buses have arrived, and the rest will be delivered in the next week and a half. These buses were procured by Libertas through EU funds, they are 100 percent free for Libertas and we will not stop there. Over the next two weeks, we will sign a new contract for 23 buses, so in a year and a half we will have 34 buses without any financial burden on the city.”
