Its Star Wars Day, May the Fourth Be With You, and Dubrovnik has found itself as the second most popular filming destination to visit.
Dubrovnik was the location for Star Wars The Last Jedi with various scenes around the Old City of Dubrovnik used in filming, and although the city was almost unrecognisable in the final cut it is still proving to be a popular destination for films of the sci-fi franchise.
Back in March 2016 the camera crews and stars turned up in Dubrovnik and recreated the casino planet of Canto Bight. The main street through the heart of the Old City, Stradun, was the centre of attention and a massive film set transformed the 16th century facades into a galaxy far, far away.
And now according to new data Dubrovnik is still popular with fans wishing to see the filming location. There has always been a sense of excitement when you picture yourself in the location of a famous blockbuster film or TV series. But what’s even more exciting is finding out that the place you see on the big screen exists, and you can visit where your favourite character or actor once stood.
In celebration of Star Wars Day (May the 4th), the mobile experts at Money.co.uk have scoured the globe for some of the most memorable gems from the films to visit.
