The Gradac parking lot is already looking almost finished after four months of work. The parking space with one of the most spectacular views over the Old City of Dubrovnik is finally, after years of being ignored, undergoing a reconstruction. The complete project is being financed by the public city company, Sanitat, and the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Frankovic, took the opportunity grab some pre-election praise by announcing on his Facebook profile a photo of the new parking lot. He added that the parking lot would be “exclusively for citizens of Dubrovnik,” meaning that unfortunately even when it is finished it will not help solve the parking problems of tourists visiting the city.
“Today I saw my political competitors talking about what and how much we have done. What I can say is that no one can refute the whole range of projects we have realized. Just look at the Gradac parking lot as it looks today compared to what it has looked like for the last 50 years. I believe you can see the difference. And of course, parking will continue to be exclusively for the citizens of the City of Dubrovnik, because they, as during the entire mandate, are in the first place,” said Franković.
