As part of the implementation of the joint strategic project "Product Development Peljesac" in the fields of eno-gastronomy and active tourism, the municipal tourist boards in Orebic, Ston, Trpanj and Janjina sent an invitation primarily to Peljesac winemakers, but also to other participants in tourism.
The project is regarding setting up the first ever Peljesac Wine Cellars Festival, which if the Covid-19 situation is favourable, is planned for the beginning of May this year and will last until the 6th of June.
“Its purpose is not only to promote Pelješac wines as a strong trump card in the tourist offer, but also to support and help winemakers to overcome the situation, maintain production and a high level of quality of their wines in the difficult business conditions due to the coronavirus epidemic,” state the organisers.
And added that “The festival would include nature activities, hiking and cycling on the route of the Pelješac wine routes, and would begin with the traditional May Day ascent to the highest Pelješac hill, St. Elijah.”
