Coronavirus Dubrovnik – highest number of new daily cases of Covid-19 in Dubrovnik-Neretva County since pandemic began

In the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, 142 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the last 24 hours (70 determined by a rapid antigen test). This is the worst 24-hour period for new cases of Covid-19 in the county since the pandemic began. The 12th of August was, until today, the worst day for new cases with 139 recorded.

These are 40 people from Metković, 35 from Dubrovnik, 15 from Župa dubrovačka, 13 from Ploče, nine from Konavle, eight from Korčula, five from Kula Norinska, four each from Blato and Vela Luka, one each from Dubrovacko Primorje, Opuzen, Pojezerje, Slivno, Smokvica and Ston and three people who do not reside in the county.

A total of 72 males and 70 females were infected, and 92 had an established epidemiological link.

Unfortunately, one female person from Dubrovnik died (born in 1931).

72 people made a full recovery in the past 24 hours - 24 from Dubrovnik, nine each from Metković and Orebić, six each from Ploče and Župa dubrovačka, three each from Blato, Korčula, Lumbarda and Pojezerje, two from Konavle and one each from Kula Norinska, Ston, Trpanj and Vela Luka.

11,576 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 2,139 people the second dose.

According to the results of sequencing for the processed 31 samples, 17 cases of the British strain and one South African have been recorded in Dubrovnik-Neretva County so far.

In the last 24 hours, 479 samples were processed, and since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 53,687 samples have been analysed.

66 people tested positive for coronavirus are currently hospitalized in the Dubrovnik General Hospital. Six patients require intensive care, of which five are on invasive and one on non-invasive ventilation.

There are 1,292 people in self-isolation, and in the last 24 hours there have been three violations of the self-isolation measure (two at the border).
