The National Civil Protection Headquarters held a press conference on the epidemiological situation throughout the country. Over recent weeks the Covid-19 situation in Croatia has improved dramatically with the number of new cases remaining stable. Krunoslav Capak, the director of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, stated that Croatia is now in 14th place out of the 27 European Union member states in terms of 14-day incidence. He also empathized that the Dubrovnik-Neretva County has the lowest rate of new Covid-19 cases in the country.
“Today our 14-day new case rate per 100,000 inhabitants is 366.4. with today is the incidence. The lowest is in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the highest in Međimurje. Our 14-day incidence compared to other EU countries is such that we are in 14th place. The Czech Republic has the highest, 1502.1,” stated Capak.
Adding that, “As for the overall mortality rate per million inhabitants, we are ranked 20th out of 27 EU countries. We vaccinated 29,746 people.”
