The truck load of mandarins that set off yesterday from Dubrovnik arrived in Vukovar today. Accompanied by the deputy prefect of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Žaklina Marević, the truck full of mandarins arrived in Vukovar on Tuesday in front of Diocesan Caritas.
The Dubrovnik-Neretva County has been donating a truck of Neretva fruit to the sister Vukovar-Srijem County as a Christmas present for years.
“We came this time with a slightly larger quantity, 16 tons of mandarins to be exact. You know that we donate ten tons every year, and our partner, one purchase centre from Opuzen donated the rest. We are proud to come here every year to show how important Vukovar is to us and how good and positive the relations between our two counties are,” stated Marević.
Vukovar-Srijem County Prefect Božo Galić also emphasized that the good relations between our two counties have lasted for years through economic, cultural and, above all, friendly cooperation.
“I thank you for this gift for our Caritas, which is a sign of strong mutual support of each other," concluded Prefect Galić.
