It might seem a little strange, and certainly not very festive, when Christmas decorations are being hung whilst people are walking past in shorts and flip-flops, but that was the scene today in Dubrovnik.

There are 49 days left until Christmas Day and temperatures are up in the mid-twenties with blazing sunshine. Today the main street of the Old City of Dubrovnik – Stradun – started to get a festive feel as Christmas decorations were hung.

Even though Advent in Zagreb may be all but cancelled but Dubrovnik is pushing ahead with the festive events, at least for now. Although it would appear that the interest from restaurants, catering facilities, shops, etc. is lacking as reports suggest that only five businesses have delivered an offer to rent one of the festive stands in the city.
