Proof, if proof were indeed needed, that 2020 was a tough year for the tourism industry in Dubrovnik was been confirmed by the latest figures from the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Tourist Board. In October the entire county saw only 12 percent of the number of overnight stays compared to the same month from 2019.

During October 2020 there were 12,946 tourist arrivals and 72,704 overnight stays across the entire county. And the number of overnight stays are down across the whole spectrum, the county’s hotels recorded only 6 percent of the turnover compared to October 2019, and private accommodation did slightly better at 20 percent.

From the beginning of the year to the end of October, there were 473,222 arrivals with 2,821,651 overnight stays, which is 32 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

Since the beginning of the year, most overnight stays were realized by domestic tourists, followed by tourists from Poland, Germany, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and France.
