Turkish national airline – Turkish Airlines had open sales on the Istanbul-Dubrovnik route for August, but there are no more flights on offer now – Croatian Aviation reports.

Turkish Airlines launched a line between Istanbul and Zagreb at the beginning of July, and it currently operates in a reduced form, only five times a week.

The second line of this well-known airline in Croatia is the one to Dubrovnik, which operates throughout the year, in winter with a smaller number of weekly flights. In the summer of 2018, there were as many as 11 weekly flights on the line between Istanbul and Dubrovnik – Croatian Aviation writes.

The company stopped traffic on this line at the time of the pandemic outbreak and has not yet re-established it. Given that the start of traffic has been delayed several times, there is a very high probability that Turkish Airlines will not return to Dubrovnik Airport so soon.

As Croatian Aviation reports, direct flights on this route are now available for booking from September 1st this year, but there is a high possibility that they will be completely canceled.

In the past week in the area of Police Administration of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County there were nine traffic accidents, in which two persons got heavily injured, eight persons got light injuries, while there were five traffic accidents with material damage.

By carrying out traffic control measures, police officers have taken 892 repressive measures against the perpetrators of traffic offenses, out of which 514 measures taken due to speeding, 52 measures due to improper overtaking, 39 measures for improper stop and parking, 77 measures because of non-use of the seat belt, 28 measures against drivers who were driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and 24 measures because of using mobile phone while driving.

British Airways, a member of OneWorld, has resumed flight operations to Croatia on Thursday, July 9th – Avioradar reports.

The first two resumed routes were from London (Heathrow Airport) to Split and Zagreb. Zagreb route is operated with four flights a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Split route is operated five times a week, On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Dubrovnik route has started with flight operations one week later, on Thursday July 16th. This route was changed since Dubrovnik was operated from Gatwick Airport for many years. However, British has dislocated all Gatwick flights to Heathrow Airport. This route is operated now with three weekly flights, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

As Avioradar reports, Pula flights will start with operation on August 1st, with two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Starting from August 1st, Dubrovnik and Zagreb routes will be operated on a daily basis, and Split route will have 9 flights a week with double flights on Saturdays and Sundays.

Last and this year Neil Patrick Harris arrived in our restaurant as a guest to yet another famous philanthropist. She is our neighbor from the east, and her name is Diana Jenkins. Diana is a Bosnian entrepreneur and philanthropist. She was our guest last year as well, and this year again, she decided to spend her summer holidays in our villa. We are delighted that our guests are coming back and recommending us to their friends – they explained on the website.

They added that Neil will soon start shooting the movie MATRIX 4 in Berlin, and he decided to rest and spend a few days with them.

The beginning of July is marked with the return of flights to Croatia by numerous airlines. Among others, French tourists are again allowed to travel by air to our country - said the director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Representation Office in France, Danijela Mihalic Durica.

Croatia Airlines announced flights on Fridays and Sundays from Paris to Zagreb, from July 11th Split will be connected to Paris again, and a flight from Lyon will start flying on Saturdays.

Air France has announced the return of flights from Paris to Zagreb and from Paris to Dubrovnik from 4th of July. The French national airline also announces the return of the flight from Paris to Split on July 13th.

-Destination safety, epidemiological measures taken, availability of information on entering the country are becoming key criteria for choosing a holiday destination, which is why there is currently great interest in Croatia on the French market - said Croatian National Tourist Board Director Kristjan Stanicic.

Currently, there is an increasing trend of reservations for Croatia from many French tour operators such as Fram / Promovacance, Travel Europe, Top of Travel, Ovoyages and Voyamar.

-If the good epidemiological picture of Croatia continues, further growth is expected from this market, especially from August when the French mostly go on vacations, but also during September and October when some airlines have already announced extended departures to Adriatic destinations, especially towards Split and Dubrovnik, traditionally the most visited Croatian destinations for French guests, but also towards Zagreb - said Danijela Mihalic Durica.

After the American Airlines route between Philadelphia and Dubrovnik was completely canceled for this summer season due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the company announced in its latest statement that it no longer intends to launch the line – Croatian Aviation reports.

Philadelphia - Dubrovnik line was introduced in the summer of 2019, and operated from the beginning of June to the end of September three times a week, while in September the line had one additional weekly flight.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, the company announced that in the summer of 2020 aircraft on this route would operate daily, which was a clear sign that the line was very successful in the previous year. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the line was completely canceled for this summer season, and flights were announced from June 2021 on Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which represented an increase in capacity and a standard of service on the line itself – Croatian Aviation explains. 

And now, American Airlines announced in its latest statement that due to the crisis caused by the pandemic, it is permanently canceling certain routes, including this one between Philadelphia and Dubrovnik.
With this, Croatia was again left without a direct connection with the United States.

The thirteenth International Festival of Opera Arias "Tino Pattiera" continues on Friday, July 3rd with a concert of the most beautiful opera arias and overtures by great composers, which will be held in front of the Cathedral. The concert starts at 9 pm.

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by its chief conductor Marc Tardue, while two renowned opera divas will perform as soloists. These are one of the leading Croatian-Slovenian sopranos today, with performances throughout Europe, Japan and South America - Martina Zadro and our celebrated mezzo-soprano, national champion of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, Dubravka Separovic Musovic. The program includes a selection of the most beautiful opera arias by world and Croatian composers, such as Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Bizet, Handel, Offenbach, Gotovac, I. Pl. Zajc and others.

Thus, the audience will have the opportunity to hear overtures and arias from the famous operas "The Marrriage of Figaro, "Barber of Seville", "La Traviata", "Carmen", "Merry Widow", but there will also be a solo song "Homeland and Love", then Gotovac's "Ode to the Earth" and many others.

Tickets for the concert of opera arias and overtures are available in the office of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra on weekdays from 9 am to 2 pm, in Luza, the Perla Adriatica agency at Ploce, the Dubravka gift shop and online via the ulaznice.hr system. Also, tickets can be purchased one hour before the start of the concert at the location.
