The City of Dubrovnik reported 3.3 million expense to the European Union Solidarity Fund, and in order to get the funds spent by preventing the spread of coronavirus. Institutions, utilities and companies in the City of Dubrovnik shared their expenses, as well s prediction of future expenses, which mostly go on medical assistance, including costs of medicines, equipment and medical devices, health care and medical examinations, laboratory analyzes, costs of civil protection infrastructure, personal protective equipment, special assistance to vulnerable groups, and rehabilitation of buildings and structures.

As a unit of local self-government, the City of Dubrovnik collected data from institutions, utilities and companies owned by it, all on the basis of a national request to be submitted by the Republic of Croatia in early June in an official request for assistance from the European Union Solidarity Fund. The exact co-financing rate will be determined at a later stage, but may not exceed a maximum of six percent of the eligible costs declared at the level of the country of the cost applicant.

The Solidarity Fund was established in 2002 to act on large natural disasters, to express solidarity with regions within Europe affected by disasters such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia made two new decisions yesterday.

Due to the favorable epidemiological situation, with the change of Decision on Working Hours and Work in Trade during the declared epidemic of COVID-19, the Sunday work ban is abolished, in compliance with general anti-epidemic measures and special instructions and recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

There is also a change in the Decision on the special operation of markets during the declared epidemic of COVID-19 disease, and now it is possible to sell flowers at markets, but also all other products that were sold before the restrictions, in compliance with general anti-epidemic measures and special instructions and recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

First drive in cinema in Dubrovnik will be held in the Port of Gruz from May 29th to May 31st, on the celebration of Statehood Day. 

Screenings are on the program at 9 pm in the west parking lot of the Port of Gruz.

A ticket package of 60 kuna per car, which can accommodate two people, includes two tickets, two packages of popcorn and two drinks.

Tickets can be purchased on the website www.kinematografi.org, www.ulaznice.hr or on the day of the screening at the entrance to the Port of Gruz. The number of spots is limited and car entry will be allowed from 7.45pm to 8.45pm.

The project was organized on the initiative of the City of Dubrovnik and with the support of the Port of Gruz, the Port Authority and the Tourist Board of the City of Dubrovnik.

According to the information from the cijenegoriva.info website, the price of petrol in Croatia went up today, for the fourth week in a row.

The price of a liter of Eurosuper 95 has risen by 35 lipa and is now around 8.52 kuna.

The price of a liter of Eurodiesel on Tuesday went up by 30 lipa and is now around 8.14 kuna. This is also the highest price of Eurodiesel since the end of March.

A liter of autogas increased by 20 lipa and is now around 4.04 kuna.

In the past week in the area of Police Administration of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County there were seven traffic accidents, in which two persons got heavily injured, one person got light injuries, while there were four traffic accidents with material damage.

By carrying out traffic control measures, police officers have taken 663 repressive measures against the perpetrators of traffic offenses, out of which 316 measures taken due to speeding, 32 measures due to improper overtaking, 119 measures because of non-use of the seat belt, 23 measures against drivers who were driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and 12 measures because of using mobile phone while driving.

Three weeks after the Government limited the maximum price of face masks in retail to 12 kuna, the State Inspectorate in cooperation with the Croatian Institute of Public Health published a template declaration that such products must have – Poslovni.hr reports.

In addition to surgical, the market is flooded with linen masks, which in the future will have to carry a declaration with basic information about the product.

According to Poslovni.hr, it is prescribed that the fabrics must be hundred percent cotton, with a thick fabric, at least 100 g / m2, and can be one-color or multicolor, but without a print, provided that they can be washed at a temperature above 60 degrees Celsius.

Both double-layer and single-layer linen masks to reduce and slow down the transmission of respiratory drops must have a note that these masks are not protective masks, and with the instructions for use and a description of how to put them correctly on the face on the declaration, there must be the name of the manufacturer or importe and a note that it is not a protective mask, and that the mask must be washed before use.

This declaration will not be placed on linen masks with a print, which are not subject to the Government's decision to limit the maximum price.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic will visit Zadar, Dubrovnik, Vrgorac and Dugopolje today and tomorrow, May 25th and 26th. 

Today, Plenkovic will visit Zadar, and after that he will head to Dubrovnik. At 5.30 pm, the Prime Minister will go to the construction site of the Peljesac Bridge in Komarna.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister will take part in the signing ceremony of the Agreement “Reconstruction and expansion of the Lapad coast, II, III and IV. construction phase " at 9 am in the City Administration of the City of Dubrovnik.

The contract is signed by the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butkovic, the Director of CFCA Tomislav Petric and the Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik Mato Frankovic.

After his visit to Dubrovnik, the Prime Minister will go to Vrgorac and Dugopolje.

The Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik Mato Frankovic held a video meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Croatia, Robert Kohorst, on the topic of tourism activities in the 2020 season, in relation to guests from the USA, which is the most emitting market in Dubrovnik after the Great Britain.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Administrative Department for European Funds, Regional and International Cooperation Zrinka Raguz and the Deputy Head of the Administrative Department for Mayor Business Ivana Brnin.

Ambassador Robert Kohorst, who took office in January 2018, was interested in details about the preparation of the City of Dubrovnik for welcoming the first guests when the preconditions are created, such as opening borders and establishing air traffic. When it comes to travels of Americans to Europe, regardless of their unquestionable preference for Dubrovnik, Ambassador Kohorst believes that the situation is currently uncertain because it is subject to constant changes related to the COVID 19 infection and epidemiological measures.

The Mayor and the Ambassador also referred to the direct air connection established last year between American Airlines between Dubrovnik and Philadelphia after 28 years and expressed hope that even after the activation of tourist movements and the normalization of the air transport market, direct air connections between the United States and the Republic of Croatia will be re-established.
