The National Civil Protection Headquarters has published new data related to the coronavirus epidemic in Croatia.
In the last 24 hours, 457 new cases of Covid-19 infection were recorded, and the number of active cases in Croatia today is 2,438. There are currently 385 people in hospital, of which 28 are on a ventilator. Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours 3 people have passed away due to the virus.
These figures are the second highest number of new Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began in Croatia, yesterday saw the record with 542 new cases. However, over the past three days 1,362 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Croatia.
The City of Zagreb saw a new record for daily cases over the last 24 hours with 161 new cases detected. The director of the Institute for Public Health "Andrija Štampar", Zvonimir Šostar, stated on HRT radio this morning that “We are breaking infamous records again, today there are as many as 161 new patients, if this trend continues, there will be no second way out - we will have to get serious," said Sostar. He added that “We propose to limit the number of passengers on buses, to increase the number of buses…to respect the social distancing and to halve at least the number of those transported in buses. There will be a little longer waiting, but health is the most important.”
Since February 25, 2020, when the first case of infection was recorded in Croatia, a total of 19,446 people have been infected, of whom 313 have died, a total of 16,695 people have recovered, 222 in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 11,729 people in self-isolation. To date, a total of 348,950 people have been tested, of which 4,417 were tested in the last 24 hours.
