Although hotels have achieved 44 percent of last year's turnover so far, a survey by the Croatian Tourism Association showed that financial income is even lower, by five to 15 percent compared to traffic, which shows that there was pressure on accommodation prices, writes the newspaper Jutarnji list.
Four-star hotels, explained the director of the Croatian Tourism Association, Veljko Ostojic, had about 10 percent more occupancy than hotels of other categories, which shows that tourists, despite the pandemic, still insisted on quality.
As far as campsites are concerned, here the financial indicators follow the physical indicators, according to which the turnover in this segment was 57 percent compared to last year, and the smallest decline was recorded in the segment of five-star campsites, which are few and far between in Croatia, but could show an indication of the direction of future development, said Ostojic.
On behalf of HUT, the Association of Employers in Hospitality and Camping praised the new practice of the Minister, who gathered representatives of the entire sector at the conference to present the results of the season, noting that this shows respect for the contribution of those who achieved that result.
When it comes to tourist traffic, the data shows that in the period from January to the end of August, we realized 53 percent of last year's overnight stays, and the result for July and August shows a share of 62 percent from 2019.
