In the past 24 hours, 358 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded, meaning that the number of active cases across the country is currently 2,352. This represents the largest jump in the number of new Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began, with the worst day until now being August 22 when 306 new cases were recorded.
There are currently 174 people in hospital and 10 people on a ventilator. Over the past 24 hours there was an increase in the number of tests, with 3,228 tests carried out. On a positive note there were zero fatalities over the past 24 hours.
The Croatian Minister of Health, Vili Beroš, commented that there are 136 new cases in the Split-Dalmatia County, 58 in Zagreb and 33 in the Šibenik-Knin County. These are the counties with the most new cases. "New hotspots have been detected in Split. These are several gyms and fitness centres, several restaurants with infected staff as well as two homes for the elderly in Split," Beros said.
