In the past 24 hours, 130 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Croatia, and the number of active cases is currently 686, among this number 117 people are in hospital and 8 on a ventilator. This is the second largest number of daily cases in Croatia since the pandemic began with the worst day being the 11th of July with 140 new Covid-19 cases.
The new cases are in the Split-Dalmatia County 46 and the City of Zagreb with 29 new cases and the Šibenik-Knin County with 10 new Covid-19 cases.
Since February 25, 2020, when the first case of infection was recorded in Croatia, a total of 5,870 people have been infected with the new coronavirus, of whom 160 have died and 5,024 have recovered.
There are currently 2,279 people in self-isolation. To date, a total of 132,292 people have been tested, of which 1,604 in the last 24 hours.
“This is the second worst day in terms of the number of people infected since the beginning of the epidemic - on July 11, we had 140 cases,” said Krunoslav Capak, director of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, at a press conference today.
