After a long period of unstable weather in Croatia, with days of heat followed by storm, the first heat wave of this summer began in Croatia today and it will last for some time – Index.hr reports.
The State Hydrometeorological Institute has issued numerous warnings for the entire country, both due to the dangerous heat and due to possible storms that are expected in the land area.
A red heat wave warning has been issued for three Croatian cities. A very big danger is in force on Saturday for the area of Knin, Rijeka and Split.
As, Index.hr reports, heat wave warnings are also in effect for other parts of the country. Warnings are issued for the the entire coast, and especially for the area of Knin, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik.
The culmination of the heat wave is expected on Saturday, and according to current forecasts, the heat wave will last at least until Monday.
The best way to cope with a heat wave is to avoid the midday sun and to drink plenty of fluids.
