Croatia joins the world today with a protest action in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. The action will take place at 6:00 pm on the Square of the Victims of Fascism in Zagreb today.

The aim of the action is to show solidarity with the "Black Lives Matter" movement in the USA and the protests against systematic police violence there, but also to draw attention to the local context.

To recall, African-American George Floyd, was killed during a brutal police arrest, when a white police officer squeezed his neck with his knee even though he offered no resistance.

Floyd’s death led to a wave of protests against racism and police brutality around the world.
