The director of the Croatian Institute for Public Health, Krunoslav Capak, commented today that given the relatively positive results of the COVID-19 situation across Croatia that people will be allowed to the beaches this summer, although it will be a slightly different experience.
"We will go to the sea for sure. I can't wait to go to the sea," Capak said, adding that the question was how tourism would be organized.
"If there is a favourable epidemiological situation, there will be no crowds on the beaches or in the café bars. There will be wardens, beach owners, the city or hotel will have to take care to make sure that social distancing is obeyed. There will be no towel to towel or deck chair to deck chair allowed because the virus is still there," Capak told HRT.
