102 cases of coronavirus in Croatia – first death

There are currently 102 people infected with coronavirus in Croatia, announced the Minister of Health, Vili Beros, at a press conference this morning.

As of midnight, decisions banning public gatherings and sporting events, suspension of work in restaurants and shops other than food and pharmacies, suspension of sports and recreation centres and suspension of religious gatherings, came into force.



In order to protect the population of the Republic of Croatia, the government has brought a decision to temporarily prohibits or restricts the crossing of persons across all border crossings. Croatian citizens, the police announced, will be allowed to return to the Republic of Croatia, that is, to go to the country where they work and reside, following the instructions and measures of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

And Croatia has unfortunately seen its first coronavirus fatality. A man who died in Istria was positive for coronavirus, and the cause of his death will be known during the day, the National Headquarters press conference stated this morning.
