81 cases of coronavirus in Croatia with 12 new cases confirmed today

In Croatia, 81 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed so far. Today, we have 12 new cases, stated the Health Minister Vili Beros said at a National Staff press conference.

"Our preparations for the third phase are adequate, and it is especially important that the situation in Slavonia is calming down. When it comes to doctors who are ill, we are organized enough to be able to organize the redistribution," commented Minister Vili Beros. Over 1,100 tests have been carried out in Croatia and the Prime Minister also confirmed that he had taken the test and the results were negative.

 

 

Dr. Alemka Markotic, director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr. Fran Mihaljevic, said at the press conference that the clinical picture was good and that for now all the people who had contracted the coronavirus had mild symptoms. More than 10,000 people are in self-isolation among which are 128 from the medical profession including eight doctors.

"I would like to thank the private sector for standing by and helping,” added Minister Beros.

So far in Croatia five people have been healed of the coronavirus. And across the world 189,683 people have contracted the virus and 80,874 have recovered and there have been 7,513 deaths.

The National Civil Protection Headquarters will announce new measures that include limiting public gathering and shutting down hospitality facilities, cafés, bars and restaurants, and other non-essential service activities.

 

 

From midnight last night all border crossings between the Republic of Croatia and Slovenia were closed. This was confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Davor Bozinovic, and was published on Twitter by the website koronavirus.hr. With the agreement of Croatia and Slovenia, at midnight, 27 border crossings were closed.

And the Croatian Bishop Conference has made a provision that Holy masses and will no longer be held in parishes across Croatia.
