If people who have been ordered to self-isolate due to the coronavirus outbreak in Croatia fail to comply to the regulations could face fines of up to 120,000 Kuna.

Almost 7,000 people are currently in self-isolation in Croatia and the government is determined to make sure that these people must remain in self-isolation and obey the law. For the first breach of self-isolation the fine is 8,000 Kuna.

The Minister of the Interior, Davor Bozinovic, stated all local police authorities have a detailed list of all people who have been ordered to self-isolate across the country.

"Pursuant to the Law on the State Inspectorate (Article 127) to a person who did not comply with the delivered decision, sanitary inspectors of the State Inspectorate will issue a Misdemeanour Order amounting to HRK 8000,” stated the Minister.

And if a person in self-isolation continues not to comply with the order the fines will rise, for a second offence the amount is 60,000 Kuna and for a third offence 120,000 Kuna.
