19 cases of coronavirus now confirmed in Croatia – schools to close in Istria

Croatia now has 19 cases of coronavirus with the latest victim hospitalised in Zagreb. The latest victim of COVID-19 had come from Austria and Germany where it is believed she contracted the virus. The Croatian Minister of Health commented that all 19 patients in Croatia have mild symptoms and are in good shape.

As a preventative measure schools in Istria will be closed from Friday. This Croatian region is the closest to Italy.

The World Health Organisation has declared a global pandemic for coronaviruses and is deeply concerned at the alarming rate at which the virus is spreading and the serious condition of the infected.

According to the latest data, 126,380 people are infected worldwide.
