New case of coronavirus in Croatia – seven now infected

By  Mar 01, 2020

The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Croatia has risen to seven. There are four infected people with coronavirus in hospital in Zagreb and three in Rijeka. The latest case was discovered in Rijeka and it is believed that the patient had been in close contact with someone already infected in Rijeka.

While Croatia has recorded another case of coronavirus the virus is spreading across the globe with many countries reporting new cases.

And the virus is also affecting the world’s financial markets with 8 billion Kuna cleared off the Zagreb Stock Exchange in the last week. A survey by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce showed that two-thirds of Croatian companies have already felt the negative effects of the coronavirus situation on their business, and over half (53 percent) said they have had a fall in turnover.
