The meteor burned above Croatia on Friday morning as it entered the atmosphere. It left a trail of smoke behind, and parts dispersed from Istria, towards Zagreb and the border with Slovenia – 24sata reports.
According to Vecernji.hr, at 10:30 in Zagreb, there was a strong rumble and tremors. A tremor was felt throughout the city, so at first everybody thought that it was an earthquake.
The European Seismological Center EMSC also announced on their Twitter profile that it was a possible earthquake.
However, the Seismological Institute told Vecernji List said that it was not an earthquake but a breaking of the sound wall, while numerous Croatian media report
