Prime Minister on coronavirus in Croatia: Stay calm, the public health situation is under control

By  Feb 27, 2020

In Croatia, three cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. Two patients were isolated at the Infectious Diseases Clinic "Dr. Fran Mihaljević" in Zagreb, and one in Rijeka. Tests are being conducted on other patients that seem suspicious.

Coronavirus in Croatia has caused a slight panic, making some Croatians run to the stores and buy basic supplies like flour and emptying the supermarket shelves. That’s why there is a strong urge from the top of government to calm people down.

At the beginning of the cabinet session of Croatian Government, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic spoke about the coronavirus situation.

-The civil protection headquarters coordinates all activities. Three cases have been confirmed, but the public health situation is under control. Another appeal to our fellow citizens is to stay calm and not to go to big shopping, where all things off the shelves disappear. Croatia has recognized this situation on time. We, especially the economic sectors, will bear in mind how to deal with this unpredictable situation, primarily to minimize the consequences. We will be cautious - Prime Minister Plenkovic said after he first thanked for the coronavirus engagement with Ministers Beros and Božinović and all relevant services, reports.
