Animal Friends Croatia call for a firecracker ban

By  Dec 27, 2019

More than 30 thousand citizens have signed a petition to ban firecrackers, saying that they are fed up with terror. The Animal Friends Croatia Association once again sent a letter to the Ministry of the Interior to reintroduce the ban on the use of pyrotechnics throughout the year.

The letter calls for urgent changes to the Explosive Substances Act to completely ban the use of F2 and F3 category pyrotechnics throughout the year, including the period from December 27th to January 1st, as it once was.

They particularly emphasize the absurdity of allowing the use of firecrackers from December 27th to December 30th when nothing is celebrated. They also asked to be included in the task force when it comes to changing the Act. In this way they will be able to actively contribute to its change and to advocate for the welfare of all animals suffering the negative consequences of the use of pyrotechnics.
