The US State Department has approved the sale of two Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment to Croatia, worth 115 million dollars, and notified Congress of that decision, the US Foreign Ministry reported – HRT writes.
The State Department's green light is an important procedural part of a possible transaction, the details of which will be agreed by the Pentagon and the Croatian Ministry of Defense. The United States last year granted Croatia 53 million dollars in military assistance to develop helicopter capabilities.
As part of this assistance, Croatia will receive two Black Hawk helicopters, equipment and spare parts, aas well as flight training.
Meanwhile, Croatiahas decided to further modernize its combat squadron and purchase additional helicopters and military equipment.
