In the first eight months of this year, 47,785 new passenger vehicles were sold in Croatia, which is 1.3 percent or 618 more than in the same period last year, while in August alone 3,417 new cars were sold, or 217 more compared to the same month last year – Poslovni.hr reports.
Volkswagen sold the most new vehicles so far this year, 6.121 or 12.8 percent of total sales on the market. Opel followed with sales of 4,647 units (9.7 percent share), while the third was Renault (4,578 vehicles, 9.58 percent share). Skoda, also the VW group, came in fourth place, with 4,431 customers choosing this vehicle brand, the fifth being Dacia, the Renault Group, with 2,966 new vehicles sold.
Skoda also has the best-selling model in the first eight months - the Octavia selected by 2,560 Croatians, the second most sought after was Renault Clio (1,978), the third VW Golf (1,689). Following are Suzuki Vitara (1,380) and Dacia Duster (1,330).
In August, the best-selling car was VW Golf (270 vehicles), the Octavia sold just ten less, and the third-placed Vitara was selected by 113 buyers.
