Over 60 percent of graduates in Croatia in 2018 were female

In Croatia in 2018, a total of 33,241 students who either graduated from university or completed professional study at institutions of higher education according to new data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

Out of the total number of students who graduated or completed the study, 73.5 percent were full-time and 26.5 percent were part-time. The share of female students who graduated from university study or completed professional study in 2018 was 60.6 percent.

Out of the total number of students who graduated from university study or completed professional study at institutions of higher education, 4.5 percent graduated or completed the study from schools of professional higher education, 15.5 percent from polytechnics, 77.8 percent from faculties (9.7 percent from professional studies and 68.1 percent from university studies) and 2.2 percent from art academies.

In 2018, the greatest number of students graduated or completed study in the field of Social sciences (42.7 percent), followed by Engineering (25.5 percent), Biomedicine and health (10.6 percent), Humanities (6.8 percent), Biotechnical sciences (5.6 percent), Natural sciences (4.5 percent), Artistic field (2.2 percent) and Interdisciplinary fields of science (2.1 percent).
