By  HINA Jul 04, 2019

Revenue from foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2019 was EUR 475 million, 25 million or 5.4 percent more than in the same period of 2018, the Ministry of Tourism said on Thursday, citing the central bank's data.

Commenting on this, the Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said that the government put emphasis on the growth and development of tourism quality, as evidenced by a continued increase in tourism revenue.

"During the term of this government, revenue from foreign visits grew in the first quarter every year, which is proof that our policy of improving the pre-season has been yielding results," said Cappelli.

Revenue from foreign arrivals in 2018 amounted to EUR 10.1 billion, 6.4 percent more than in 2017 while total tourism revenue in 2018 is estimated at EUR 12 billion.
