By  Jun 13, 2019

Former West Ham and Croatian National Team manager Slaven Bilic has been named as the new boss of West Bromwich Albion. Bilic (50) has reportedly signed a two-year contract at the English Championship side and he succeeds from Darren Moore who lost his job in March.

Bilic returns to England after he last managed West Ham in 2017 and he commented for the BBC Sport that “We want to improve on the pitch and Albion have convinced me they want to return to the Premier League.”

His last job in management, after he left west Ham, was with the Saudi side Al-Ittihad Club.

During his long playing career Bilic played for both West Ham and Everton in England as well as Hajduk Split in his hometown of Split on the Dalmatian coast.

"From the moment we spoke to Slaven, we were struck by his enthusiasm and excitement about this challenge," commented the West Bromwich Albion technical director Luke Dowling. Adding that “We believe he is a great ‘fit’ for us - his presence, experience and management qualities are just what we need.”
