The Ministry of Tourism signed agreements on co-financing of additional medical assistance teams in tourism destinations during the tourism season of 2019 in seven counties (Istria, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Lika-Senj, Zadar, Sibenik-Knin, Split-Dalmatia, Dubrovnik-Neretva).
It is a long-term project of the Ministry of Tourism which aims to raise the level of medical services during the peak tourist months of the year and to provide necessary medical care to foreign tourists and citizens of Croatia in tourist destinations in the coastal area and especially on the islands, as well as in the area of major traffic routes. So, this year, the Ministry of Tourism will co-finance the needs of seven counties for additional medical teams in tourist destinations with 1.5 million kuna.
-The constant increase in the number of guests and the financial impact on tourism is the result of, among other things, the image of Croatia as a safe destination, which becomes an important factor in the choice of destinations. This was also confirmed by the latest TOMAS survey in which tourists in Croatian tourist destinations highly rated personal safety as a source of satisfaction. In addition to the medical assistance teams, the Ministry of Tourism also co-finances the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and the Red Cross and I use the opportunity to thank everyone on the efforts they make to keep the safety of all visitors and domestic people - aid Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli.
