2018 was a busy year for Croatia’s highways with an incredible 58.5 million vehicles passing along the motorways of the country, an increase in traffic of 5 percent on 2017. And with the increase in traffic subsequently came an increase in revenue earned through the toll booths. In 2018 Croatian motorways achieved a massive 387 million Euros of revenue, up a solid 6 percent on the previous year.
There are around 1,300 kilometres of highways throughout Croatia and the increase in traffic last year means that an extra 3 million vehicles used the highways last year.
The biggest earner was the motorway between the Croatian capital, Zagreb, and the border with Serbia. This motorway is mainly used for traffic connecting the Serbian and Croatian capitals and this highway earned 128 million Euros in revenue last year.
