It is certainly turning out to be a year to remember for Croatia’s two largest airports. Both Zagreb and Split airports have once again recorded a healthy growth in passenger numbers throughout November.
The capital’s airport saw a 5 percent increase in passengers in November and handled 234,075 passengers. Whilst Spilt Airport, which is having an extremely impressive year, saw a whopping 38 percent growth in November and handled 54.856 passengers.
Split Airport will remember 2018 as a great year with every month so far showing a positive result in passenger numbers. The airport has already surpassed the total number of passengers from last year and in total up until the end of November had handled 3.079.995 passengers, an increase of 10.7 percent on last year.
Due to the constructions works at Dubrovnik Airport and restrictions to some aircraft being able to land the airport saw a drop in passenger numbers throughout November by almost 22 percent. As the second phase of the runway overhaul is currently in process this drop was expected. Up until the end of November Dubrovnik Airport handled 2.5 million passengers which is an increase of 9.5 percent compared with last year.
