The large scale migration that is plaguing Croatia is showing no signs of slowing up, and the indicators are revealing some worrying information. From 2001 to 2013, before Croatia became a member of the European Union, the average age of people migrating from the country was 41.5, however since joining the EU this figure has dropped to 33.6.
Germany is by far the most attractive destination for Croatian migrant workers. And amazing 71.3 percent of Croatians chose Germany as their destination. In second place was Austria with a mere 7.6 percent, followed by Ireland with 6.7 percent and Italy with 3.2 percent.
Germany was the most sought after country for Croatians long before it became a full member of the EU and the problems with work visas were lifted.
