Outstanding tourism results in the first half of the year in Croatia

According to eVisitor's data, which contains tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial facilities and nautical charter (eCrew system), in the period from January to end of June, there were 6.4 million arrivals (+ 12 percent) and 25.4 million overnight stays (+ 10% percent) in Croatia. Foreign tourists realized 5.5 million arrivals (+ 12 percent) and 22.2 million overnight stays (+ 10 percent), while domestic tourists recorded 10 percent increase in arrivals and 11 percent in overnight stays.

During the six months, most of the overnight stays were realized in Istria (7.4 million), while in Split-Dalmatia County there were 4.5 million overnight stays and 4.3 million overnight stays were realized in Kvarner. Next is Zadar County and Dubrovnik-Neretva County with 2.6 million overnight stays, Sibenik-Knin with 1.4 million overnight stays, Zagreb with 1 million overnight stays and Lika-Senj County with 681 thousand overnight stays.

On the continent, not including Zagreb, there were 452 thousand arrivals (+ 12 percent) and 905 thousand overnight stays (+ 13 percent), while most of the overnight stays were realized in Karlovac (172,000), Krapina-Zagorje (160,000), Osijek-Baranja 91,000), Medimurje (81,000) and Zagreb County (80,000).

At the national level during the first six months, most of the overnight stays were made by the tourists from Germany (5.1 million), Austria (2.3 million), Slovenia (2.3 million), UK (1.4 million) and Poland (1 , 3 million), while the highest number of overnight stays were made in hotels (9.2 million), households (6.5 million) and camps (4.6 million). Top destinations in the first six months according to the criteria of realized overnight stays are Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Zagreb, Porec, Split, Umag, Medulin, Mali Losinj, Zadar and Tar.

GREAT JUNE

In June, there were 2.8 million arrivals and 13.8 million overnight stays in Croatia, which, compared to June 2017, represents an increase of 4 percent in arrivals, while the number of overnight stays was achieved at the level of last year's results.

In June, most of the overnight stays were realized in Istria (4 million), Split-Dalmatia County (2.6 million) and Kvarner (2.4 million). Next is Zadar County with 1.7 million overnight stays, Dubrovnik-Neretva with 1.2 million overnight stays, Sibenik-Knin with 853 thousand overnight stays, Lika-Senj with 437 thousand and Zagreb with 249 thousand overnight stays. On the continent, there were 117 thousand arrivals (+ 10 percent) and 213 thousand overnight stays (+ 11 percent) in June, of which most of the overnight stays were realized in Karlovac (69,000), Krapina-Zagorje (27,000), Zagreb (22,000), Osijek-Baranja 18,000) and Medimurje County (16,000).

Looking at destinations, in June, on the national level, most of the overnight stays were realized in Rovinj, Dubrovnik, Porec, Medulin, Umag, Split, Mali Losinj, Tar, Crikvenica and Novalja.
