Condé Nast Traveler, one of the most famous lifestyle travel magazines in the world, has recently published an article titled 'WHERE 'MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN' WAS FILMED IN CROATIA'. It brings details about filming locations on the island of Vis.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the sequel to Universal's movie hit Mamma Mia, has been filmed on the Croatian island of Vis during the September and October last year. Just few days ago, the final trailer has been published. And it's lovely to see the scenes made on this beautiful island.
The filming of the Croatian part of a new sequel of the popular romantic comedy hit from 2008, engaged more than 270 filmmakers and statists from Croatia. ‘’Mamma Mia’’ producers were extremely satisfied with their experience of filming in our country. All the crew members were enchanted by the island of Vis.
-Most of the island appears in the film, but the action was centred on the village of Komiza to the west, particularly little Barjoska Bay, where a new road was specially built to bring the production to the rocky coast. Its co-star was the island’s most famous landmark, Stiniva beach on the south coast, with its white pebbles and dramatic cliff entrance to the sea (best visited by ferry rather than by the steep climb down from the road). For Kalokairi’s jetty – the venue in the first movie of a dancing parade of hunks in flippers and Speedos – they moved to the far western tip of Barjaci, home to a gun battery, while Jastozera, a waterside restaurant well-known for its lobster, was converted into a Greek tavern, and pizzeria Pansion Dionis into a village market - Condé Nast Traveler writes.
They also bring information where celebrities spent their nights – for example Amanda Seyfried was luckyy to move into Palaca Jaksa, a 17th century stone house, while Andy Garcia was at the Villa Serena, a luxurious three floor house.
-Given the run of the island, all made the most of their time off. Pierce Brosnan, in residence with wife Keely, was particularly active, visiting Vatrica in the Kut area of Vis town for seafood on the shore and taking a daytrip to nearby island Budikovac, known for its blue lagoon, where the single resident runs a menu-free restaurant serving local specialities - Condé Nast Traveler shares with readers.
