The Međimurje County Prefect Matija Posavec attended the awarding ceremony and received the Financial Times Award in Cannes in France on the 13th of March 2018.
On this occasion, among other participants at the ceremony, the Prefect met with Vitali Klitschko, the former boxer and current Mayor of Kiev in Ukraine. They discussed cooperation in joining the two regions. Actually, Međimurje has for many years nurtured good business and economic relations with the region of Rivne Oblasti in Ukraine.
‘’Of course, as I was talking to one of the best athletes in history, I took the opportunity to talk about Croatian and Međimurje sports about which Klitschko knows quite a lot. On this occasion, Mayor Klitschko announced a possible visit to our region in order to convince himself firsthand in all the results and benefits that brought this important award to the Međimurje region’’.
