According to data from the World Bank, Croatia is ranked as the 28th richest country in the region.

Based on data for 2014, countries in the region of Europe and Central Asia accounted for 27 percent of the world’s wealth. The countries of Western Europe accounted for the largest share of wealth in the region, whilst Croatia placed below the region average, reported the World Bank.

Croatia, with $147,545 per capita placed as the 28th in the region of Europe and Central Asia i.e. below the region’s average of $368,233. For example, Poland ranked better than Croatia with $154,932 per capita, whilst the neighbouring country of Slovenia placed as the 16th with $351,776 per capita.

In 2014, Western European countries accounted for 83 percent of regional wealth – Germany (19%), France (14%), Great Britain (13%), the Russian Federation (9%), whilst Eastern European and Central Asian countries accounted for the remaining 7 percent.
