Hainan Airlines could soon be connecting Croatia and China with direct flights, as confirmed by the Chinese Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA).
‘’We have improved our talks on the Hainan Airlines direct airline from China to Croatia, most likely to Zagreb. The introduction of direct flights would surely increase the number of Chinese tourists in Croatia’’, commented the president of CSEBA Marko Rendulić.
Rendulić also added that the interest expressed by the Chinese Hainan Province as well as by the Chinese central government could be attributed to the good news related to the selection of the Chinese Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) as a consortium for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge in Croatia.
Hainan Airlines is the largest civilian-run air transport company and the fourth-largest airline in terms of fleet size in China. It operates scheduled domestic and international services on 500 routes from Hainan and nine locations on the mainland, as well as charter services. Its main base is Haikou Meilan International Airport, with a hub at Beijing Capital International Airport and several focus cities.
