In the first quarter of 2017 the average Croatian salary was 5.408 Kuna, which is one percent less than in the previous quarter – it’s reported by website MojPosao, within research MojaPlaća. That is around 725 Euro, 770 Dollars or 620 Pounds. The highest salaries were recorded in private companies with foreign ownership and were higher by 13 percent than average.
However, compared to the same period last year, the average salary was two percent higher. In addition to top management, which has 112 percent higher salary than the average, the highest paid professions are in the field of technology and development (76 percent more than the average), information technology (36 percent) and Human Resources (32 percent).
On the other hand, workers with the lowest average salaries are those in textile and leather industry, (lower by 43 percent than the average), workers in ancillary occupations (lower by 38 percent) and workers in the service sector (33 percent lower).
In the first three months of this year, men had an average of 11 percent higher salary than women, which is shows a small difference than the previous three months, when the difference was 12 percent. The men on average earn 5695 Kuna and women 5122 Kuna.
