If you are looking for the lowest price real estate in Croatia you are going to have to look to the countryside. Whilst house prices along the Adriatic coastline continue to grow, although slower than in recent years, the interior of Croatia is a goldmine of cheap property.
According to information from the online real estate agency - Crozilla.com - the city of Osijek is one of the cheapest in the country. The average price of a metre square in Osijek in 2016 amounted to only 957 Euros. Meaning a good size two-bedroom apartment would set you back around 62,000 Euros ($66,000).
However this isn’t the cheapest real estate in Croatia, the city of Sisak in the Slavonia region has the cheapest real estate in the country. The same size two-bedroom apartment in Sisak costs only 45,000 Euros ($48,000) as the average price is only 705 Euro a metre square.
The average price in Zagreb in 2016 was around 1,600 Euros a metre square; the same size apartment would cost you around 105,000 Euros. The most expensive real estate in Croatia is in Dubrovnik and on the island of Hvar. In Dubrovnik the same size apartment would set you back around 160,000 Euros.
