Two Croatian short films will have their world premiers at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival – movie Into the blue made by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic from Dubrovnik in the Generation 14plus and animated movie Hedgehog house in the Generation Kplus – reports HAVC.
Generation is competition program of Berlinale that shows films thematically and aesthetically dedicated to children and youth. The program consists of two parts: Generation Kplus and Generation 14plus, the best films are awarded with the Crystal Bears and cash prizes and each year this festival is visited by more than 65 thousand people.
Into the blue was filmed in Dubrovnik last year and will be in the section Generation14plus. Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic made the film and it was produced by movie association Motion from Croatia and Slovenian Blade Production. That's the story about 13 year old Julia and her mother who go to the idyllic island where Julia spent her childhood, while trying to escape domestic violence.
In Generation Kplus Hedgehog house will be presented. That's the adaptation of famous Croatian fable by Branko Copic, who through the story of the encounter of the several forest animals - foxes, wolves, wild boars and bears, speaks about the importance of home.
