"Overall, the picture of the tourist season is very positive," said Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, after a meeting between government members and representatives of the tourism sector held near Split.

According to the data presented, the season is currently five percent better in arrivals and one percent better in overnight stays compared to last year, and revenues are also expected to be higher than last year.

In recent years, total investments in tourism amounted to 6.4 billion euros, which has increased capacities, Plenković said.

"When all the beds in Croatia are added up, we have almost two million," he added. He emphasized that the meeting reiterated that guests must receive appropriate service for their money.

And the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina described today's meeting as successful and extremely important, addressing concrete topics and solving current problems. He is satisfied with the results so far this year, especially the pre-season. He believes that the strategic goal of year-round tourism is slowly being realized.

The director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, stated that the market situation is "more than good" and that Croatia is among the most sought-after destinations.

"Almost all markets are in a positive trend, and we will continue with promotion, already slowly for the post-season. This should lead to higher revenues," he said.
