World Bank Forecasts Robust Growth for Croatia Amid Eurozone Economic Slowdown

Written by  Jun 12, 2024

The eurozone economy will be slowed this year by 'muted' investments and weakened competitiveness in foreign markets due to 'elevated' energy prices. In Croatia, the growth rate is expected to be significantly above average, according to the latest forecasts from the World Bank released on Tuesday.

In 2024, the Croatian economy is projected to grow by three percent according to the new World Bank forecast, raising the January prediction by 0.3 percentage points.

The growth rate will be more or less in line with last year when activity, according to new estimates, increased by 3.1 percent, which is 0.6 percentage points higher than early-year forecasts.

In 2025, activity is expected to slow slightly, with an estimated growth rate of 2.8 percent, which is 0.2 percentage points lower than the World Bank's expectations at the beginning of the year.
