It is still unknown whether Luka Modrić will be part of the Real Madrid team next season.
Modrić joined Real in 2012, and his current contract with the club is valid until the end of June. Real could still win another trophy this season. On June 1st, they will play against Borussia Dortmund for the UEFA Champions League trophy at Wembley.
Spanish media reports suggest that Kroos and Modrić are set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
"The situation is taking on the shape of bad news for Real Madrid fans. As things currently stand, Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić are closer to leaving Real than staying," emphasized Antonio Romero, a journalist for Cadena SER and As.
"As for Luka Modrić, the Croatian and club president Florentino Perez will hold a face-to-face meeting before Wembley. Before this meeting takes place, one thing should be emphasized. Luka Modrić is currently on his way out. This can change. The president likes Modrić as a player and would welcome his stay, but there are external factors influencing this," said Romero, continuing:
"Let's put it this way. If I had to bet and invest some of my money on whether Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos will be at Real Madrid next year, my answer would be negative."
