Dominik Livaković and Joško Gvardiol have received a great honor. Dominik Livaković has found himself in the running for the world's best goalkeeper according to France Football.
Livaković is one of the ten nominees for the Yashin Trophy, which the prestigious French magazine awards to the best goalkeeper of the past year.
The list of nominated goalkeepers includes: Dominik Livaković, Mike Maignan, Yassine Bounou, Andre Onana, Ederson, Brice Samba, Emiliano Martinez, Thibaut Courtois, Aaron Ramsdale, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The winner of the award will be announced at a ceremony on October 30th in Paris. Thibaut Courtois is the defending champion, and previous winners include Gianluigi Donnarumma and Allison Becker.
Dinamo also praised their former goalkeeper, now the goalkeeper of Fenerbahçe.
"Our former captain and one of the greatest players to wear Dinamo's jersey, Dominik Livaković, has been nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or – Yashin Trophy, the award for the world's best goalkeeper. Congratulations, Livi!" they wrote on Facebook.
Livaković is not the only Croat competing for a prestigious award. Joško Gvardiol is among the 30 candidates for the Golden Ball, the award for the world's best football player.
Karim Benzema won the award in this category last year. Dinamo also congratulated Gvardiol, their former player and now a defender for Manchester City, on this nomination.
